Following very successful previous editions since 2002, the 17th ISPDC conference will be hosted in Geneva, just in front of the water jet. The conference will be devoted to a highly selective program for papers describing original and unpublished research advancing the state of the art in the field of new Parallel and Distributed Computing paradigms and applications. Parallel and Distributed Computing is today a central topic in science, engineering and society in the development of new approaches for the modeling, design, analysis, evaluation, and programming of future parallel and distributed computing systems and applications.

We cordially invite you to submit your contribution to the 17th International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Computing (ISPDC-2018), considering our mission to bring together researchers, engineers, and practitioners involved in the development of new algorithms and architectures for parallel and distributed computing, as well as visualisation and post-processing. We consider the following area of interests, but not limited to:

Applications of parallel and distributed systems: science and engineering, data warehousing, social networks, management of big data, embedded networking systems, cloud and grid computing, mobile systems, web-based and multimedia systems, knowledge-based systems, biomedical applications, resource management including green computing.

Parallel and distributed architectures: instruction-level and thread-level parallelism; very large-scale and reconfigurable systems design; special purpose architectures including graphics processors, VLSI design and signal processors, network processors, media accelerators; network and interconnect architectures; parallel I/O and data storage structures; power-aware embedded architectures.

Programming and developments tools: parallel and multicore programming; runtime systems and parallel virtual machines; multi-threaded operating systems; time-critical parallel embedded systems, middleware for grids, clouds and data centers; Internet programming tools, performance modeling and evaluation tools.

Algorithms design: parallel numerical, combinatorial and randomized algorithms; algorithms for heterogeneous systems or systems of systems; communication protocols, multicasting and interconnect algorithms; data-intensive parallel algorithms; scalability of algorithms and data structures; networking reconfiguration and mobile computing algorithms; performance modelling and optimization; scheduling and load balancing algorithms; efficient security and safety algorithms.
