Abstract
This presentation provides an overview of the R&D activities at IQM, highlighting the key skill sets required in the quantum computing industry and the major open challenges in the field. It covers recent advances in quantum processing unit (QPU) design, high-performance computing (HPC) and quantum computing (QC) integration, and quantum error mitigation techniques. The talk also presents IQM’s vision for achieving fault-tolerant quantum computing, including progress in quantum code design. Finally, it offers a commercial perspective on how quantum systems can be integrated into the broader computing ecosystem.
