03 Dec 2026 - 05 Apr 2026: Brings European Energy Innovation to ICSGE 2026

The upcoming International Conference on Smart Grid and Energy (ICSGE 2026) in Paris will welcome Prof. Nabil Abdennadher from the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO / HEPIA) as one of its keynote speakers — a recognition of the institution’s growing influence in the European energy research landscape.

Prof. Abdennadher will present his work on the O-CEI project, a flagship European Horizon initiative developing an open Cloud-Edge-IoT platform designed to tackle one of the energy sector’s most pressing challenges: managing a grid increasingly shaped by decentralised renewable sources, evolving consumption patterns, and competing stakeholders — all while preserving data privacy and individual freedoms.

At the heart of his talk is the Swiss pilot, a concrete example of how cutting-edge technology can be deployed with people in mind. Rather than imposing top-down solutions, the pilot places citizens at the centre of the process, co-creating energy flexibility applications with users from the very start. Combined with AI-powered, context-aware forecasting that adapts in real time to local conditions, the approach offers a compelling model for community-driven energy ecosystems.

The conference, which brings together leading academics and engineers from around the world, provides an ideal stage for Prof. Abdennadher to share insights from O-CEI project.
