09 Jul 2026: O-CEI Pilot 8 at AI for Good Global Summit 2026
The AI for Good Global Summit, organized by the ITU, took place in Geneva from 7 to 10 July 2026. It brought together AI innovators, researchers, and policymakers from around the world. The theme: “Unlocking AI’s potential to serve humanity.”
Our Swiss Pilot 8 was proud to be part of this global gathering. We joined the État de Genève / HES-SO booth, where we presented a slide deck introducing our project. We highlighted its objectives, current progress, and ongoing work, and engaged with visitors and fellow participants throughout the event.
As part of the programme, on 9 July 2026, our colleague Konstantin Skaburskas delivered a presentation titled:
“Socially acceptable open AI-based systems for Energy transition” How can AI help the energy transition without losing trust, user control, and social legitimacy?
The talk explored how open, transparent AI approaches can support the energy transition while preserving the trust, control, and social legitimacy that users and citizens expect. These are central questions for the work of Pilot 8.
Being present at AI for Good was a great opportunity to showcase our project to a broad and engaged audience. It also gave us the chance to explain our work and exchange ideas with researchers, institutions, and practitioners working on similar challenges. Throughout the summit, we attended a range of panels, conferences, and exhibition stands. These interactions sparked many interesting discussions and provided valuable perspectives to bring back to the project.
